Love's Complicated

It was a forbidden love. He was prince charming and she was just some bum off the street who had fallen for him. She worked at the little market on the corner, where he used to go often just to see her. Her clothes were very ragged, though he dressed quite nice. They just weren't the ordinary cute couple that you see everyday.
The day they met was just like a fairy tale dream. It was her day off, she didn't have anything to do, and she had no friends so she decided to take a walk in the park by herself. On her walk she repeatedly passed fliers advertising a skating party taking place later on that night. The fliers described what appeared to be a fun time. Although she didn't have many friends she was thinking about going to try and make a few new ones.
She went straight home, she didn't even finish her walk she was so happy. Life wasn't really all that good for her so this was a big opportunity for her to make friends. She was a top notch student at her school 4.0 maintained all through her years of high school. She was now in her senior year so she made up her mind that she was no longer gonna be a lame.
When she walked in the house she rushed to her mother's room to ask for permission to go to the skating party, "Mommy can I go to this skating party tonight?". Her mom was very strict, this was one of the reasons she didn't really have a social life, but since she'd never gone out before she didn't see any problem in going just this once.
"No," was her mother's first response. After much pleading and begging her mother gave her permission to go to the skating party. She had to be in by 1:00 A.M. The party was over at 12:00 A.M so that seemed to be fair. The idea of meeting new people excited her.
She wore a green PePe outfit with some white Air Force Ones. Her hair was braided into a puff ball. She had on some very little hoop earrings with a small anchor necklace on. When she arrived everyone was staring because they were so surprised to see her there, she seldom participated in anything!
She started to feel like this was a pointless trip so she began to walk out, but as she was walking out Maya, a girl from her school, pulled her arm. Sabrina turned around and gave her this confusing look and Maya asked her, "Where are you going?"
Sabrina said, "I'm going back home."
Maya told her, "No you can just hang with me.".
Sabrina stood there and thought about it for a minute then she decided to go back with Maya. Maya was sitting with two other girls, Ebony and Jessica.
Ebony had on a blue fitted Aeropostle shirt with some blue jeans and white flip flops. Her hair was swooped on both sides of her head with her hair down behind the swoops. She had a big heart chain necklace on with some matching silver heart earrings. Maya had her hair pulled back into a pony tail with some big hoops. She wore a white tee with jeans and some white Air Force Ones. Jessica's hair was in twisties and she wore a black fitted South Pole shirt with some matching blue jeans and some white Air Force Ones.
Sabrina thought she looked terrible, but when she saw that everybody else was sort of dressed like her, she felt a little better.
They all got settled at the table and start talking. Just as the conversation started to get good he walked in. Her dream was coming true, she couldn't believe this was happening to her. Like oh my gosh is this real?
Kyle was standing there at the table she was at. They'd never been face to face with each other before until now. He wore a white tee with a blue tee shirt over it, some baggy jeans, and he also wore a pair of white Air Force Ones. His hair was in a puff ball and he had on a white du-rag.
Maya noticed how they were staring at each other so she introduced them. They shook hands, said hello, and from that moment on she wanted to spend the rest of her life with him.
Everybody noticed the chemistry between them too. Once he walked away they all started giggling and talking about how cute that was. All of them thought Kyle was pretty cute, but never interested in him cause every girl wanted him, Sabrina was very interested in him though. From that day on Sabrina, Maya, Jessica, and Ebony all became the best of friends.
The night soon ended with her going back to Maya's House with everyone else, her mom actually said she could go. They stayed up all night talking about Kyle. There was no doubt Sabrina liked him.
Everybody had a boyfriend except Sabrina. Jessica was with Derrick, Maya was with Thomas, and Ebony was with Bryan. They were all football players and so was Kyle, which made him more attractive to Sabrina, she loved athletes.
Jessica called Derrick, who was at Kyle's House with Bryan and Thomas, she told him that Sabrina thought Kyle was really cute and he said Kyle felt the exact same way about her. Sabrina gushed about this.
She returned home the next morning telling her mom all about her night, how she had so much fun and she'd made some new friends. Her mom was happy for her, but at the same time she wanted her to stay on task and not forget the important things that she worked so hard for. She assured her mom that she would stay focused and not get side tracked. She didn't tell her mom about Kyle though because her mom wasn't really all that fond of dating.
It was Monday morning when Sabrina heard loud ringing coming from her pink Hello Kitty alarm clock. She turned over and cut it off then fell back alseep. She wasn't in the mood for school today for some odd reason. She'd met a new cute boy and a couple of cool people last weekend so there was no reason for her to not be ready for school.
Her mother came in her room and asked what was wrong and why she wasn't up and ready for school already. Sabrina said she didn't feel good, she had a headache, and she'd be going to school late. This was unusual for her so her mom didn't understand but she left it alone, got ready for work, and left. She told Sabrina to call if she needed anything, she only wanted the best for her daughter so she was very concerned.
Two hours later she decided to get up and go to school. Looking in the mirror at her hair she thought it was a mess so she fixed it up "for Kyle".
By the time she arrived at school it was time for lunch, she called Maya to see if they would be going out for lunch today or not. Maya said no so she went to the table where everybody was sitting, including Kyle.
Since Ebony, Jessica, and Maya were all sitting next to their boyfriends Sabrina decided to sit next to Kyle, there was nowhere else to sit anyway.
Just as she sat down Raven walked over and gave her a look then she began talking to Kyle, it was obvious that she was interested in him, but what she didn't know was that he liked Sabrina so this didn't even bother her.
Lunch was over 30 minutes later. Kyle's class was right next to Sabrinas' so they walked to class together and finally exchanged numbers. Since they were both good students they decided not to text each other during class, even though they wanted to very badly, they waited until class was over to talk.
When the bell rang they walked out of class and linked up with everyone else. They were all just posted on the wall and talking when Courtney, Ashley, and Raven walked up. These were Kyle's main groupies. They all loved him and wanted to be with him but it was terrible because they were all best friends so it just didn't seem right.
Raven, Ashley, and Courtney were all dressed alike, so cliche. They each had on a white fitted Roca Wear shirt with some matching faded Capris and some Air Force Ones. Their hair all swooped in a pony tail with some big hoop earrings and a long chain necklace. Sabrina laughed on the inside, she couldn't believe how ridiculous these girls were being.
Nobody saw a purpose in the girls' arrival because nobody was talking to them and none of them even liked that little click. So Sabrina, Kyle, Ebony, Bryan, Jessica, Derrick, Maya, and Thomas all simultaneously walked away as soon as the "groupies" approached their spot. Everybody was laughing and talking about how pathetic they were, even Kyle. Soon after the laughter was over everybody split up and went their own way.
Sabrina was walking by herself to her class when Travis approached her. She'd never even talked to him, she didn't notice that he was very cute until now, but she was talking to Kyle so Travis didn't matter at this point. He had on some white Air Force Ones, some True Religion jeans, a white hoodie, and some very nice cologne. She was very confused as to why he was talking to her though. He'd seen her everyday and never said a single word, but today he decided to speak.
Travis told her she looked nice and smelled good. She smiled and responded with a thank you and a confused look on her face. She didn't even have on anything special. She wore a Victoria's Secret Pink sweat suit, with her hair pulled back in a clip, big hoop earrings, some flip flops, and she had Warm Vanilla Sugar body spray on.
He smiled back and said he knew they never talked but it's senior year and he couldn't ignore her beauty anymore. Nothing special came to her mind. She was thinking of Kyle. Travis was the star football player, he was a starting Quarter Back, he also had groupies. They stopped when they got to her class. He said he wanted to talk more, she saw no problem with that so they exchanged numbers just as she and Kyle did.
Unlike Kyle, Travis texted her the whole class hour about how he had a big crush on her and he never felt he could tell her but he was running out of time to waste so he finally expressed how he felt now. Sabrina was lost for words. She didn't expect any of this and she just didn't know how to respond. She was confused.
The day went on and all she could think about was Travis. Although she had spent the rest of the day with Kyle her head just wasn't in the right place at the time. She barely even seemed interested in him the whole time they were talking, but she didn't want to ruin anything before they even made anything official so she just said she'd call him later on.
When she got home she called Maya and told her about what happened earlier in the hall with Travis. Maya laughed and told Sabrina not to worry about him. He was just a player and he never meant anything he said. He was only looking for "something" new. That wasn't the answer Sabrina was looking for so she paid no more attention to Maya than she did to Kyle. This was all too much for her, no wonder she was a lame. Popularity had its ways of taking your mind off of work.
After her phone conversation with Maya she decided to do her homework. When she finally finished her homework she sat back and thought what her next move should be. She took a shower and planned on calling Kyle when she got out.
She got out the shower and instead of calling Kyle she called Travis, not such a bright idea, but she did it anyway. Travis wasn't even talking about anything important, she should have listened to Maya. She hung up on him, not to be rude but he was just blabbing about himself. She called Kyle, hoping he wouldn't be such a jerk.
Her conversation with Kyle was more pleasing than the one with Travis. They talked all night, it was a rather nice conversation. It sooned turned into something automatic. They'd hung out all day, everyday at school, and sometimes on the weekend when she didn't have to work and if she did have to work he'd come in and help sometimes. They talked everynight on the phone just as they did the first night she called him.
Travis had never talked to her anymore after that night, but he would look at her daily. Sometimes he'd wink, she'd simply just smile back. One day in the locker room, before gym class started, Sabrina was getting dressed and she heard "the groupies" talking about Kyle. Sabrina listened closely just to see what they were talking about. They were saying how Sabrina was setting herself up for failure and that relationship would fall apart as soon as it began. This flattered Sabrina that they were so jealous of her and Kyle because they weren't even an official couple yet. They were just talking.
Travis was standing outside of the locker room when Sabrina walked out after class. She was expecting Kyle instead but paid no mind to it and just walked with Travis. He was too good looking to ignore. As Sabrina walked with Travis down the hall Raven and her friends were watching. This was not a good sign for them.
Later that night Sabrina had not called Kyle, it slipped her mind, and she was kind of tired so she just went straight to bed. When she arrived to school the next morning he was being weird. He acted like he had an attitude with her. "What's wrong Kyle?", Sabrina asked. He responded, said "Nothing.", and walked away. She didn't even think to follow him cause out the side of her eye she could see his little groupies watching and giggling.
It was time for class so she made it a side note to go ask Raven what she'd said to Kyle. The whole class hour Sabrina was just thinking of the terrible lies that "the groupies" could have made up, she knew it was about her and Travis walking together yesterday, but why would Kyle get mad when they're not a couple and he wasn't even there waiting.
When class ended she began walking fast, faster, and now she was practically running trying to find Raven. She finally found her and she asked her what her problem was. At first Raven gave her a look and turned away then she decided to answer. She told her she didn't like the fact that Kyle liked her and she's been trying to talk to him forever.
Sabrina laughed, said "You're very insecure and childish I hope your life goes well," and walked away to find Kyle. After Raven's pathetic response she didn't even want to know what she had told him anymore, she'd just ask him herself.
She Found Kyle on the wall with everyone else, she spoke to them for a brief second then she pulled Kyle to the side. She asked what Raven had said and he told her that she said Travis was outside of Sabrina's class waiting on her then when she came out he gave her a kiss and they left together.
This tickled her to her stomach, she couldn't stop laughing. When she calmed down from all her laughter she told Kyle that was nonsense and they didn't kiss. She told him that Travis had been outside of the class when she got out and they did walk away together, but it was nothing serious, and he had nothing to worry about.
She let Kyle know that he could trust her and talk to her whenever he had a problem instead of avoiding it like he'd done. He gave her a kiss on the cheek and asked her to be his girl officially. "Yes," was Sabrina's response to his question. She was very happy.
Everybody on the wall was smiling cause they knew how happy Sabrina was. She was kind of upset too at the same time. She had a feeling that Travis would be in the way of her new relationship so she decided to tell him about it, just in case he thought they had a connection.
She told Kyle about she and Travis, how they were good friends so he shouldn't worry about him, just in case Raven came up with something new. Kyle didn't seem so sure about this though. He had a feeling that it was a bit more than it seemed, but he didn't say anything to Sabrina about it, he just thought that to himself.
When she told Travis he was devistated, she could tell by his facial expression, but he'd told her that she could call on him no matter what whenever she needed a guy friend to talk to. This was so nice of him, seeing that he was interested in her.
From that moment Sabrina knew it was really Travis that she'd fallin for and not Kyle. She stayed with Kyle though just to see how their relationship would turn out.
This was not a good thing though, really liking Travis, but being with Kyle. It was sort of insane
She ended up staying with Kyle for a few months until she discovered that he cheated on her with Raven. She was very hurt from this information. It really crushed her. She couldn't believe he would even be so childish. She cried and cried and cried until her eyes were blood shot red. All her firends were mad at him. They all stopped talking to him because of his actions.
She fell behind in her school work, she stopped going to school sometimes, and all of a sudden she became very grumpy all the time. This caused her to get in numerous arguments with everyone, except for her firends, they understood what she was going through so they paid her attitude no mind.
Through all of this Travis stuck by her side, unlike the others, he didn't take her attitude. He told her to straighten herself out, stop stressing over dumb stuff, and get back on task. She hated him for that because it was those few words he'd shared with her that made her fall for him even more.
She finally gathered the strength to tell Kyle how she felt after 3 months of their ended relationship. He said he would like to work things out, he was deeply sorry, and he would make it up in any way he could. She was tempted to take him back, but she didn't, instead Travis asked her out that very same day.
